Oh, and one other baseball thing

There's been an awful lot less about the hopelessness of the likes of the Kansas City Royals in this year's "Why Baseball Is Dying" articles-does any sport have media coverage as relentlessly negative as baseball?-due to the hyping of the steroid controversy. While I have mixed feelings about the crusade to save the game there as well, mixed feelings are better than complete horror, I suppose, which is what salary caps evoke in me.

So thank you, Victor Conte. Millions of baseball fans owe you more than they know.

Hee-hee. I'm so happy I've discovered this blog. Intelligent talk about baseball, without all the prog-rock stuff that Berube tolerates.... The most aggravating thing about that 'wipe Bonds from the record books' crap is the assumption that he didn't hit any of those homers off of pitchers on steroids or whatever. I'm so sick of all the steroid grandstanding.
